‘Aldburie’ is a single-storey dwelling built around 1915 as a staff cottage for the adjacent Plas Amherst.

The works are to provide for potential future needs of our client, who is registered disabled.

The proposed alterations will provide an additional family bathroom contained within an existing bedroom, and a pitched roof extension to provide a new bedroom with en-suite shower room.

The bedroom in the new extension will become the master-bedroom for the house, with an en-suite shower room, and a large picture window to take in the view north along the coast towards the hills of Snowdonia. The window and ceiling will follow the pitch of the roof, making the room feel airy and luxurious.

To improve the appearance of the North elevation in the context of the new extension, the existing half-hip roof will be removed and extended to create a new gable with window to match the proposed extension.

In terms of accessibility, the new bathroom within the existing bedroom will be spacious, and will be designed to be used by those with mobility issues.
