ABOUT CWA

Chris qualified as an architect in 1991 and has since had a rich and interesting career, working for a number of architectural practices and on a wide range of projects.

He set up Chris Wilderspin Architects (CWA) to cater for clients wanting a locally based, but internationally inspired architectural service. By being local, he can provide a personal and efficient service that prioritises clients' needs, and responds intelligently to the site.

Based in North Wales, serving the local area and beyond, Chris’s aim is to bring well-considered, good value design to your project. He undertakes all types and scales of work, from house renovations to larger commercial and institutional work.

Prior to starting CWA, Chris was a Partner at van Heyningen and Haward Architects (an award-winning and well-renowned London practice). Here he gained significant useful experience on projects in sensitive and historic settings, working for clients such as the National Trust, the RSPB and several private schools. As a result, he is well attuned to the individual needs of clients, and at listening to statutory bodies, such as planning authorities and conservation groups.

In all of Chris’s work, context is key to the success of a project. He will always design a bespoke solution which is specific to your requirements and your site (which he studies in detail before starting to design).

Chris is equally passionate about the effect of construction on the environment, always looking to maximise the potential environmental benefits of a building project. He researches the possibilities of traditional and modern building techniques and materials, selecting those most appropriate to your project, and will maximise the opportunities of natural resources, such as the use of daylight and sunlight.
