HARLECH
Our client was making this small bungalow a retirement home which needs to accommodate visits from their family, and wanted to convert the loft to a flexible space to expand the usable floor area. The new room could be used as a second sitting room, a bedroom or a hobby room. The loft conversion also included a new bathroom and a small workspace.
At the same time the ground floor was extensively modernised with a new open plan kitchen-diner with new doors connecting the space with the garden, and a new building regulations compliant staircase to access the loft. Due to the restricted space which was available, we designed a floating timber and glass stair which is a sculptural as well as a practical addition.
