COMPLETED PROJECT
LLANFAIR
Penrallt Farm is a substantial stone farmhouse dating from the late 19C. The current accommodation comprises the main house and a smaller attached cottage, which can be used for holiday accommodation. The house and gardens enjoy great views to the coast at Llandanwg, Shell Island and Pensarn Harbour.

We were asked by the owners to develop designs for two new extensions - one to replace a dilapidated kitchen extension used by the cottage including a new utility room for the main house, and a new garden room with en-suite bathroom above. Both new extensions are clad in local stone with a pitched slate roof.
Small, detailed features raise the new extension above the ordinary – the ceiling follows the pitch of the roof and includes large skylights, increasing the sense of space and natural light; windows have been strategically placed to take advantage of views; the layout has been designed to be as flexible as possible, allowing the house and cottage to be used together as one large dwelling, or separately as a house and holiday cottage.
